GBK allows commitment by classification and labeling

(Ingelheim). – When the foam line passes, it is yellow. After the surprise at the last soccer World Championship, when the referees resort to the spray, the foam from the can has also been used in the German professional leagues since this weekend. For players, referees, stadium publishers and TV viewers, the distance of the opposing wall from the free-kickers is unambiguously visible.

What worked well in Brazil should also be used without problems in Germany. But the German Technical Inspectorate showed the yellow card to the DFB and forbade the use of aerosol cans due to the lack of labeling and classification according to hazardous substances legislation. The excitement caused many a smile, but there was a need for the world champion association and the importer of the spray to provide a quick remedy.

The “Topscorer” from the Hazardous Substances League was used for this: the professionals of the GBK GmbH Global Regulatory Compliance, one of the leading companies dealing with dangerous goods and hazardous substances, were “inter- vented” to enable regular spraying. The consulting company, which is located near Mainz, soon prepared a correct label (with all prescribed warnings) and the prescribed safety data sheet.

The use of the spray in the first three German soccer leagues actually is on its way. The spray will also be used at European level, as the preparations for internationalization have already begun on the part of GBK. According to hazardous substances law, professional users – including the referees – must be instructed in the handling of hazardous substances. The DFB has responded quickly and trained its referees so that they do not get to the offside, and thus also apply certified spray cans on the field in accordance with regulations.
